The Austrian Association for the Protection of Industrial Property and Copyright (Österreichische Vereinigung für gewerblichen Rechtsschutz und Urheberrecht - ÖV) founded in 1958, brings together experts in the fields of IP, competition and copyright law. The members are composed of entrepreneurs, public corporations, academics, attorneys-at-law and patent attorneys.
Based on its practical experience, this renowned Austrian Association issues statements on draft legislation. These reviews, along with further information on current and relevant technical issues, are published on the website and sent to the members via newsletter. Of great practical importance is the publication of the Austrian Journal for Industrial Property and Copyright (ÖBl), which appears every two months. Furthermore, the ÖV organizes academic lectures, most notably the annual ÖBl-Seminar, but also interdisciplinary discussions such as ÖV experts and the IP lunch with an exchange on a actual topic at the table.
