Work experience
Catrina Lam was called to the Hong Kong Bar in 1999 and is a barrister practising from Des Voeux Chambers in Hong Kong. She operates across all aspects of contentious commercial disputes (including domestic and international arbitration), competition (antitrust), public law, securities and regulatory litigation. Catrina has advised and appeared in many of the first landmark cases on competition law in Hong Kong since the Competition Ordinance came into full operation in December 2015. Catrina was elected as 1st Vice President of LIDC during the London Congress in 2024, following three years of service as Vice President. She is the Founder and Chairman of the Hong Kong Chapter of LIDC and has been the Chairman of the Hong Kong Bar Association’s Special Committee on Competition Law since 2020. She was appointed as a Non-Governmental Adviser to the International Competition Network in 2018-2021 and an External Counsel to the Hong Kong Competition Commission since 2016.


Studies
Catrina holds an LL.B. from University College London, a Master of Arts in EU Competition Law (Distinction) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Economics in Competition Law from King’s College London. In 2016, she undertook a secondment to Monckton Chambers, a leading London set specializing in competition law.

She has been recognised as a “Band 1” junior barrister for commercial dispute resolution in Chambers & Partners. In addition, she holds a “Tier 1” ranking in commercial disputes, competition, and administrative and public Law in Legal 500.
