My decades-long commitment has been to fair competition and practical education on advertising law through publications and lectures at universities and other educational institutions. As Managing Director of the Austrian Association for the Protection Against Unfair Competition (founded in 1954), I am active in the field of unfair competition and antitrust law and one of Austria's leading experts on this specialized area within the Austrian Unfair Competition Act (UWG) since 1998. I am a member of several working groups at the national and international levels, particularly concerning unfair competition and international white-collar crime.
Études
Previously, I gained relevant experience in Austrian and European competition law at law firms both in Austria and abroad. During an Erasmus exchange program, I became intimately familiar with European law at the University of Utrecht (Netherlands), where I achieved the highest score in my international group during the English-language final exam. I completed my law studies at the University of Vienna, where my diploma thesis focused on the constitutional implications of Austria's accession to the European Union (EU).
Publications, conférences, etc.
Furthermore, I moderate conferences such as the Austrian Association for the Protection of Consumers (ÖBl) seminar, contribute to the academic leadership of the Forum for Competition Law, which holds an annual conference at the Austrian Supreme Court (OGH), and regularly author publications on competition law, including those related to new media. I am responsible for the content of the annual journal "Law and Competition" (RuW) and manage the website www.schutzverband.at. As the honorary Secretary General, I also maintain the website of the Austrian Association for the Protection of Consumers (ÖV) at www.oev.or.at. Furthermore, I serve as editor of the Competition Handbook, with a print run of 2,000 copies (new edition in 2023 to mark the 100th anniversary of the German Unfair Competition Act), and am a regular contributor of articles on online advertising to the publication "Rechtsberatung Internet" (Legal Advice Internet).

As the honorary Secretary General of the International League for Competition Law (LIDC) in the Austrian chapter, I maintain contact with numerous international organizations and utilize my extensive network at both the national and European levels to share my diverse experiences in the interest of promoting fair competition and disseminating information on IP and IT law.

There is also a special “NEX GEN” subgroup for younger lawyers who organizes events and produces a podcast which will bring insightful conversations, industry trends, and leadership wisdom straight, featuring voices that matter in today’s fast-evolving world.
